The present church stands on the site of an 1831 building. Designed by Liam McCormick of Derry and built by Farmer Bros. of Dublin, it was completed in 1954 at a cost of £38,000. It has reinforced-concrete structure and a north-facing façade with a bell tower. In 1991 Canon J. O’Connor oversaw major alterations by Colm Ó Riain, removing the seven side altars and remodelling the sanctuary. It was rededicated by Bishop Eamonn Casey on 10 March 1991. In 1995 George Walsh installed stained glass depicting the Virgin as “Mother of All Seasons”.
