On this Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes, the Dioceses of Clonfert, Galway, Kilmacduagh and Kilfenora are delighted to announce their Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes 2026, to be led by Bishop Michael Duignan.
The pilgrimage will depart on 29 June 2026 for five nights in Lourdes, offering the faithful an opportunity to gather in prayer at the Grotto of Massabielle, to participate in the Sacraments, and to join in the Candlelight and Blessed Sacrament processions in the place where Our Lady appeared to Saint Bernadette.
Pilgrims will travel on a direct return flight from Shannon to Lourdes, with coach transfers to and from Shannon Airport available from designated pick-up points across the dioceses. The pilgrimage package, from €995 per person sharing, includes airport taxes, transfers in Lourdes, five nights’ accommodation, and full board throughout the stay. A comprehensive religious programme will be provided in collaboration with the dioceses.
A dedicated Assisted Pilgrims Section will once again form a central part of the pilgrimage, ensuring that those who require nursing assistance may travel in comfort and with dignity.
This pilgrimage is a moment of grace for our diocesan family — an opportunity to entrust our prayers, our parishes, our sick, and our loved ones to the maternal care of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
