The church was designed by Fred Browne of Robinson, Keefe & Devane and built by J. J. Rhatigan of Milltown. Its octagonal plan gives an open, modern character. The altar, ambo, and font are of limestone from Ballinasloe. Bishop Michael Browne dedicated it on 15 August 1975. The roof was replaced in 1992, and a triptych by Vicki Crowley was later added behind the tabernacle.

First Saturday of each month, 6:45pm–7:15pm, and on request.
Sacrament of Baptism
Baptisms are celebrated on the first Sunday of the month at 12:00 noon, and on the third Saturday of the month at 4:00pm.
