The Dioceses of Clonfert, Galway, Kilmacduagh and Kilfenora have welcomed their latest group of candidates beginning the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA), a journey of faith for those wishing to become members of the Catholic Church.

The RCIA offers adults an opportunity to explore the Catholic faith, ask questions, grow in prayer and discover more about the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. Over the coming months, participants will be accompanied as they prepare to receive the Sacraments of Initiation, traditionally celebrated at Easter.

Those taking part come from different backgrounds and bring their own experiences and reasons for seeking to become Catholic. Each has taken an important personal step in responding to the invitation of faith.

The beginning of this year’s programme is a welcome sign of hope for the Church in our dioceses. We wish all those beginning their journey, and those who will accompany them, every blessing in the months ahead.
