What a wonderful celebration this morning at the Cathedral as we marked the Feast of Saint Nicholas during this 60th anniversary year. Parishioners, clergy and visitors gathered for Mass and joined in prayer for the parish and for the wider diocesan family.
In his homily, Bishop Michael spoke about the long tradition that surrounds Saint Nicholas and reminded us that he “was known most of all for his generosity and his care for people.” The Bishop encouraged those present to allow that same concern to shape the life of our dioceses and asked that the example of Saint Nicholas would guide our common work in the months ahead.
We ask the intercession of Saint Nicholas for the Diocese of Clonfert and for the Diocese of Galway, Kilmacduagh and Kilfenora. May his example sustain our faith and strengthen our mission. Amen
